Professor Dan Paunescu taught  Geotechnical engineering, Advanced Program in Water Resources Engineering

[SIE] Prof. Dan Mihai Paunescu, The Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest, Romania taught Geotechnical Engineering for 56NKN class, advanced program in water resources engineering, ThuyLoi University from 5/9/2017 to 9/9/2017.

Professor Dan Mihai Paunescu, Head of Department of Hydrotechnics EngineeringFaculty of HydrotechnicsThe Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest, Romania taught geotechnical engineering course following the standard program of Colorado State University, USA for class 56NKN, advanced program in water resources engineering, ThuyLoi University from 5/9/2017 to 9/9/2017.

The Faculty of Hydrotechnics of the Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest originates as a specialty in the old Polytechnic School in Bucharest, which was born on the skeleton and material basis of the National School of Bridges and Roads, one of the first higher education institutions in Romania, founded in 1896. The Faculty of Hydrotechnics was born in 1949 when the Institute of Constructions was founded and the hydrotechnics department became a faculty of this institute.  Hidrotechnics is today a complex technical field, offering multiple skills, from civil engineering to water management or environmental protection. At present, the faculty offers four major disciplines including: Sanitary Engineering and Environmental Protection, Hydrotechnical Construction and Construction, Environmental Engineering and Automation and Applied Informatics .

A number of lecturers from both the Faculty of Hydrotechnics , The Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest, and the School of International Education, ThuyLoi University have been teaching the master program of sustainable hydraulic structures jointly organized by ThuyLoi University and University of Liege, Belgium, starting from 2011.

Prof. Paunescu was welcomed by the leaders of TLU and SIE on 05/09/2017 in the Reception  room. Attending the meeting also representatives of departments and specialization divisions. It is hoped that the visit will bring together opportunities for cooperation in the fields of training and research between two universities with long tradition in the field of water resources.
