This is the first time ThuyLoi University has had foreign master students who studied International Master program (lectured in English) and have successfully defended their master theses with Vietnamese classmates.
[SIE] On September 26th 2016, ThuyLoi University organized Boards of Thesis defense, Phase one, for the first cohort of NICHE master program. It is a cooperative education program between Vietnam and the Netherlands that is taught in English. All of the theses were written and defended in English by foreign and Vietnamese students.

Ms. Tania Hasan (from Bangladesh) successfully defended the master thesis entitled “Evaluation of impact of large reservoirs upstream of the Red River system to sediments transportation at downstream of the Red River - Thai Binh River” that was supervised by Associate Professor Nguyen Mai Dang and Doctor Ngo Van Quan.
Mr. Phommachan Syphachanh (from Laos) successfully defended the dissertation entitled "Evaluation of the impact of reservoir construction and climate change on the flow regime of Nam Thon river - Nam Ca Dinh, Laos” which was supervised by Doctor Ngo Le An.
Ms. Le Thi Huong Thom was successful in defending the thesis entitled “Water balance for Ma river basin in the context of climate change” which was supervised by Associate Professor Nguyen Thi Thu Hien and Doctor Ngo Le An.

The master thesis defense was attended by Professor Trinh Minh Thu, Vice Rector of ThuyLoi University, Doctor Ilyas Masih from UNESCO-IHE, Delft, Netherlands, members of Boards of thesis defense, and international students from Laos and Thailand.
