The classes summarize the list of students in the class who wish to enroll in the course, stating the English level, the average grade point average (GPA) from the beginning of the course to the present time and send it back to Mrs. Thuy - Office of School of International Education at nguyenthanhthuy@tlu.edu.vn before 05/01/2020 for considering the letters of recommendation.
Application Process for Global Affairs Undergraduate and Graduate Students
(Undergraduate applications are coordinated by the International Student and Study Abroad Centre; Graduate applications are coordinated by the International Office.)
Undergraduate Student Applications:
For Undergraduate ELAP applicants applying to take courses during their exchange at the USask, a student exchange agreement is required.
a. Monday, January 27th 2020 at midnight CST - Nomination: The International Student and Study Abroad Centre (ISSAC) coordinates all undergraduate student applications. To nominate your students, complete the attached nomination form and email it to study.abroad@usask.ca.
i. PLEASE NOTE: We are only accepted course-based nominations but will consider nominations for research only on a case by case basis for undergraduate students.
b. Friday, February 14th 2020 at midnight CST
i. Online Registration: After receiving your nominations, the student will receive an email with the online Admissions application link.
The student will upload one of the following:
- English Proficiency document
o A signed letter from the Faculty of English in your institution or;
o A signed letter from your International Coordinator confirming level of English language skills or;
o Evidence of completion of the IELTS (minimum band score 6.5) or TOEFL (minimum paper-based score of 550/internet based score of 80)
- Official Academic Transcript Of Records
- English translation of transcript (if original is not in English)
- Optional: Photo
ii. Global Affairs scholarship application: All of the Global Affairs supporting documents must be submitted to study.abroad@usask.ca by the home institution’s mobility coordinator.Applications submitted directly by students will not be considered. These documents must be sent to study.abroad@usask.ca on or before February 8th 2019 at midnight CST.
The supporting documents include:
- Proof of citizenship
- Proof of full-time enrolment (Template attached)
- Letter of intent from the candidate (Please ensure that this includes how your study in Canada will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals and SEED program mandates)
- Letter of support from the home institution
- Privacy notice statement (attached)
- Global Affairs scholarship application form (attached)

Undergraduate Students applying to the Global Affairs scholarship will be registered at the University of Saskatchewan as exchange students, therefore the terms outlined in our mobility agreement for exchange will apply to all Global Affairs applicants.
Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
Graduate Student Applications:
For Graduate ELAP applicants applying to conduct research at the USask, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is desirable but not mandatory.
The International Office coordinates all graduate student and faculty applications. To start the process of submitting Graduate student/Faculty applications please contact international.office@usask.ca with the subject heading “Global Affairs Scholarship”.
a. Deadline January 27th 2020 at midnight CST – Nomination: List of required documents:
i. Applicant’s CV
ii. Applicant’s statement of research interest: a letter in English from the applicant describing the nature of their research to be undertaken at the University of Saskatchewan.
iii. Transcript from all past and present post-secondary institutions
b. February 14th 2020 at midnight CST – Global Affairs Scholarship Application:
iii. All of the Global Affairs supporting documents must be sent to international.office@usask.ca by the student, please also cc your mobility coordinator at your home institution.

c. February 26, 2020 at midnight CST – Supervisor and student matching must be complete with letter of invitation from USask host supervisor. If no match is made by this date, the student will not be eligible to apply for the Global Affairs Canada scholarship.
